it's no secret that i'm a huge fan of the tv series "dateline". any show with the likes of lester holt and keith morrison is sure to be a great one, am i right? i look forward to every friday for a new episode filled with mystery, suspense, and most of all...murder! some may call it an obsession, but i'd like to think of it more as a fascination with the human psyche.

*i find the majority of murders featured are by the hands of disgruntled husbands. i always joke with ben that if he's ever planning on murdering me to at least make it worthy enough for a dateline episode. he laughs too and it's all in good(?) humor.
(i sure hope i haven't planted a seed, though...)
*i try to be as friendly as possible to the people in our neighborhood, not necessarily because it's the right thing to do, but more because i want them to be able to tell the police only decent things about me if i ever go missing.
*we sleep with a wooden bat beside our bed.
*i'm quite anal about writing every little detail in my day planner: where i'm planning to be, who i'm going to be with, etc. i feel like it'll give investigators an edge as to where my body might be hiding.
*i always make sure i have clean underwear on. always.
*i find it completely normal to map out all of the escape routes in your house...you never know, right?
*...and since dateline uses the same photos over and over again of victims in the episodes, i've decided that professional head shots are most definitely necessary...
it's better to be "safe than sorry", right?
